BIMuk was initiated in 2011 and is a summary of the industry work undertaken by many industry user groups, innovation projects and industry bodies which have developed industry best practice and means of working to what is now understood as BIM from over the last twenty years. These include but are not limited too:
- ADT User Group
- AUGIuk
- The BIM Community
- AVANTI
- CPIC
- BuildingSMART UKI
- LRUG
Special mention must go to the work of CPIC and AVANTI which provided the framework for the transition from building information modelling into building information management and finally led to the development of BS 1192:2007. From this, each have contributed to the body of knowledge assimulated here, as well as defining the requirements for the UK BIM Level 2 strategy and now what lies beyond.
